World Space Week is an international celebration of science and technology, and their contribution to the betterment of the human condition. The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1999 that World Space Week will be held each year from October 4-10. These dates commemorate two events:
This is an opportunity for new and experienced event organisers to learn about the 2009 theme, find out how to organise an event, raise cash, gain publicity etc. The details of the East Midlands grants will be announced at the event.
Students aged 11 yrs and upwards are invited to the STEM Student Journalist briefing session. A workshop to provide students with all the need to know information to become a STEM Student Reporter.
Students' contributions as reporters will be to create news items as a result of their engagement with STEM activities, both in and outside of the classroom. Students can contribute with written documents, podcasts, or videos - whichever technology they find stimulating.
