Each March the National Science & Engineering Week shines the spotlight on how the sciences and engineering relate to our everyday lives and it helps to inspire the next generation of scientists with fun and participative activities.
As a part of this event, the Nottinghamshire branch of the British Science Association takes great pleasure in organising ‘Science in the Park’ on Saturday, 10th March 2012, between 11 am and 4 pm in Wollaton Hall.
The ASE is delighted to announce that Stuart Naylor well known for “Concept Cartoons “and “Active Assessment “ will be delivering a morning session on Scientific Enquiry titled: “It’s not fair-or is it?”
The session is about the different types of enquiry, how they help develop pupils understanding, and how pupils’ enquiry skills develop. It will enable teachers to broaden their range of enquiries and be more purposeful, and it will help subject leaders to be more effective in the school.
Stuart’s reputation precedes him and subject leaders will be able to tell you about his work. As he is much in demand, nationally and internationally, we are delighted to have booked him for this session.
The session will run from about 9am to 1pm.
For more details of the event, contact Field Officer Tanya Dempster [email protected]

I’m an Engineer, Get me out of Here! is an award-winning engineering enrichment and engagement activity, funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering. It takes place online over a two week period and is a competition for engineers, where students are the judges. The 13-to 18-year-olds ask the engineers questions, chat about them, their research and engineering and then vote for the engineer who they think deserves the prize.
