  • UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair in 2009

    The Big Bang - the landmark event celebrating science and engineering talent - bursts onto the scene from 4th to 6th March 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London. It aims to promote UK science and engineering generally, and inspire all students. It will feature compelling and exciting shows, workshops and presentations across the entire science and engineering spectrum; displays and demonstrations of leading-edge UK technology; and exhibition stands to showcase science and engineering projects. The Big Bang also features the newly established National Science Competition, where two stars will emerge - the first ever UK Young Scientist of the Year and UK Young Technologist of the Year.

    Dragon Breath Theatre, in partnership with Curve, Leicester, and Nottingham Trent University’s School of Art & Design and CELS present: Cosmos - a journey to the stars. A participatory performance for 4 - 7 year olds exploring the science, wonder and mystery of the Universe and our place in it... A funny, poignant and magical feast of storytelling, dance theatre, puppetry and digital splendour. Innovative theatre-makers Dragon Breath (short-listed ACE/THES Educational Excellence & Innovation Award 2007 and Brian Way Award 2008) have developed the performance/education programme with children and teachers over 18 months. Cosmos is accompanied by a specially designed Education Resource. The project researches how the arts can engage young children with complex scientific concepts through human stories, play and performance.
    Cosmos also appears at Curve, Leicester 27th-30 May in The Spark Children’s Arts Festival.
