In Northamptonshire, we have produced a National Science and Engineering Week Newspaper to celebrate the activities taking place between Friday 6th - Sunday 15th March 2009.
The newspaper features articles written by primary and secondary aged students. Students will be reporting on events, projects and activitites they have been involved in throughout NSEW 2009.
Here some examples of activities taking place this week…
The Nene Valley Rotary Club is running a massive Technology Tournament with 75 teams taking part. Alongside this event there will be a group of KS4/5 students who will be recording the events during the day, ready to go into the newspaper.
Fourteen primary schools are involved in a project call The Infinis Energy Challenge. Students will be seeing how much teaching and learning can take place using a Wattson device. The Wattson devices is a gadget which measures the amount of energy used by appliances. The Wattson devices have been delivered to the schools taking part. The schools are all geared up for a hectic week of science and related topic work based on the devices.
All in all a busy week, we look forward to sharing our best student articles with you over the next few weeks.
