The East Midlands STEM Partnership is pleased to announce that preparations for the 6th Forum Event are currently underway. The title of this forum is ‘STEM From Every Angle’, taking place on 3 March 2010 (9.30am-2.00pm) at 3M Health Care Limited, Loughborough.
This event seeks to explore problem solving skills in the context of the region’s economic priority sectors – Transport Equipment, Food and Drink, Sustainable Construction and Healthcare and Bioscience. Problem solving skills are developed through the study of STEM subjects and delegates will be able to hear how the maths curriculum in particular, is changing and responding to this need.
Delegates will hear from Keynote Speaker Dr Bryan Jackson, Chairman of emda; Dave Smith, 3M; John Klee, 3M and Barbara Linton, National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics. More speakers to be announced shortly!
