Discussion on STEM Role Models

by Guest Blogger: CathyB 5. August 2009 10:43

There is a current discussion on the STEM Advisory Forum website www.stemforum.org.uk on STEM role models. The aim of this discussion is to hear the views from people working in STEM careers or who use STEM in their work. Thus far the STEM Advisory Forum website has received views from many people whose main role is in education but they have not yet drawn views from people working in STEM outside of education. The questions posed are:

  1. What more do you feel you could offer to assist education professionals in inspiring young people in STEM? What support is needed to help make this happen?
  2. What skills should we be enabling young people to develop which will help them progress to STEM careers?
  3. What should we be doing differently to help more young people understand the excitement and possibilities of careers using STEM skills?

So please do have a look and contribute your opinion or experiences to this discussion thread.
