The 2009 Design Challenge final was held on the 9th July at Silverstone Circuit. There were 23 teams taking part in the final from afar as Grimsby down to Dorset. Everyone seemed to have a good time and the entries were amazing. Our judges were impressed with them all as the standard seems to get better every year. The winning team was Team AIR, from Carlton Le Willows School in Nottingham who won a day out behind the scenes at the BritCar 6hr race at Silverstone arranged by Lunar Racing.
The Silverstone Design Challenge is gearing up for 2010 with changes to make the Challenge even more exciting. We are inviting primary school students aged 8 - 11 years to come and join us by taking part in our Stamp It Challenge. Further details of this will be announced soon, but if anyone is interested then please contact me and I will send out information as soon as its available. We are also putting together a special Design Challenge for the 16 - 18 year students, ensuring that they can be judged separately on a Design that will be more suited to their age group. The 11 - 15 year students will have the option of taking part in one of 4 challenges with some new ones being introduced. Again, all this is still in the early stages of discussion so as soon as plans are confirmed we will be making an announcement. Our website is also being developed and as soon as we have information available it will be updated with all the forms and details that you need to take part in the 2010 Challenge. In the meantime, if you are interested in taking part then please register your interest by emailing me, Dianne Wilson on [email protected] - we hope you will come and join us.
