Do you have what it takes to win the new Cracking Ideas competition?

by Guest Blogger 30. June 2009 16:32

All you have to do is come up with Wallace and Gromit’s next business venture.

Following  the ‘Top Bun Bakery’ in their latest short film ‘A Matter of Loaf and Death’ identify the innovative duo’s next successful business and identify how intellectual property can help them protect their creativity.

There are lots of ways you could choose to portray Wallace and Gromit’s new business – You may decide to make a model and take a photo of it, write a screenplay, record a short video,  paint a picture – in fact anything goes as long as you can upload your entry electronically at www.crackingideas.com/competition

Remember: Intellectual property allows innovators like Wallace and Gromit to protect their creativity and ensures they gain value from it. Patents protect new inventions, trade marks protect brand names, designs protect the way a product looks and copyright protects the creativity behind the idea (eg advertisements, music, photographs.)

You can take part in the Cracking Ideas competition on your own or in groups with your friends. It’s a great competition to have a go at with the school summer holidays coming up - It’s good fun, educational and you could win some fantastic prizes.

Open to 4 – 16 year olds the competition is easy to enter and guaranteed to bring out the budding inventor in you!For more information go to www.crackingideas.com/competition/
