£3,000 Funding Available to support STEM subjects

by Guest Blogger 22. April 2009 11:04

A special Educational Award of £3,000 is open exclusively to secondary schools in the Charnwood & N.W. Leics region. This funding is aimed at supporting specific projects which will enhance pupils' knowledge, understanding and attainment in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM subjects). The educational award is part of a community award programme sponsored by Loughborough based 3M Health Care and the Loughborough Echo Newspaper open to charities, community and schools in the catchment area of the Loughborough Echo newspaper.

Examples of STEM projects which the award would support are: commissioning specialist speakers on any of the STEM subjects; purchase of books/educational materials; equipment and components for practical projects; fees to attend relevant STEM events/career fairs; establishing STEM clubs for students.

Schools who are interested in applying for the Award should contact Jo Swift, Tel: 01509 635827 or email: [email protected] for an application form.

Closing date for all applications is 8th May.

Please note that schools may submit multiple applications provided that each is for a clearly different STEM project.

Good Luck with your Entry!
