  1. Leicestershire’s young space explorers to meet Lord Mayor

    Local students with a talent for maths and science will meet with the Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Manjula Sood today, as part of the Aimhigher Leicester City + Leicestershire ‘You Can Do It!’ campaign. The 17 students from four Leicester Colleges recently travelled to Korolev, near Moscow in Russia to compete in the International Space Olympics. They will present the Lord Mayor with a gift from the Mayor of Korolev City.

The STEM Student Journalist project is funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda), through the STEM partnership and allows students to use their natural interest in the media to explore themes in STEM subjects.

Chloe Freeman (12) and Natasha Rose (13) both STEM Student Journalists, will know if they have won a top prize on 10th December when the Awards are announced at the National Space Centre in Leicester.
