The BBC’s Bang Goes the Theory Roadshow rolled into Nottingham over the early May bank holiday. There were lively science shows, Dr Yan’s Amazing Street Science and the Interactive Arena supported by lots of local STEM Ambassadors who helped to bring the science to life for the thousands of visitors.
The STEM Ambassadors reported having a great time, summed up by one who said it was ‘Highly enjoyable, educational, tiring!’
Another said: ‘I don't think I've ever communicated science at an event where you engage with tiny people who haven't yet learnt to speak, to homeless guys who want to learn about aerodynamics, to OAPs getting really competitive on the resonance bowl! And seeing all ages come back over and over again throughout the weekend to try out more and see more was so lovely. One girl even changed her role model from Cheryl Cole to Liz Bonnin (presenter on Bang Goes the Theory). That's a definite result.’
